In Deuteronomy 28:1-14 we love to read the blessings for obedience. But verse 15-68 (that's 54 verses!) talks about the curses for disobedience!! We should not skip verse 15 to 68 in our Bible reading. They serve as a great warning to us.
A life in disobedience and rebellion to God is a cursed life. Running away from God and rejecting Him will surely lead to destruction.
Therefore we must understand God's will that we may obey Him always.
The prerequisite to understanding God's will is offering ourselves as a living sacrifice in view of God's mercy for us, and by not conforming to the world and by being transformed by the Holy Spirit through the renewing of our minds by the word of God.
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-- his good, pleasing and perfect will.
